BIOGRAPHY
Charley Anderson: Founding member of The Selecter & the 2-Tone movement.
vocalist, bass player, composer and producer achieved platinum status with
"Too Much Pressure”. His solo career
& collaborative projects including Century
Steel Band (UK/Ireland) The Vikings (Kenya), The
South Sudan Project,
The Skalatones (Sweden), Surya.Lab (Italy), the Truth and Rights project
(Nicaragua) and Charley Anderson and Special Selected Friends (UK).
Charley returned home to
Jamaica in 2011 to take part in the JCDC Festival
(Jamaica Cultural Development Commission) where he ranked in
the Festival
Song top10 with his song and video production for "No More Pressure”.
Now back in Rome,
in 2012 he reunited with Joe Casagrande, producer and
sound designer, to form Dubtonik, producing and
performing a unique and
vibrant combination of live vocals and instruments with a rootical, subtronic
dub electronic sound mix, taking his music to a higher level of consciousness
creating another exciting chapter in his already varied and successful career.
Joe Casagrande: Active in music production since 1995, an eclectic Producer,
Sound Designer and Musician, Joe has collaborated with several artists,
musicians and video makers in audio-video installations, theatre performances,
and
concerts. His performances include a Live set at the Amore 09 Rome for an
audience of
50,000, performing twice
at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with
Opera Mutica (an
electro-acoustic collective), an Ukranian Dance Theatre
Company (Nova Rasa) and Rose
Bruford with Central
Saint Martins College of
Art and Design, directed by Andra
Cusumano. Joe also performed
recently at the 33 Festival, Oval House Theatre, London
performing the
soundtrack for the show "Hidden”.
Joe has released and produced various tracks, with music
ranging from Dance
to Ska and Reggae to Electronic Dub. Co-founder of the project Surya.lab, he
collaborate with "Concrete Records."
Joe has been working with Charley Anderson
since the late 1990's and together they formed Dubtonik in 2012.
